Cette mise à jour apporte des améliorations de sécurité supplémentaires pour le contrôle Affichage Outlook, qui est un contrôle Active Microsoft qui vous permet de visualiser les dossiers d'Outlook e-mail sur les pages Web dans Outlook 2002. Outlook 2002 vous protège contre les agresseurs qui tentent d'exploiter la vulnérabilité dans le client de messagerie Microsoft Outlook. Vous pouvez utiliser le contrôle Affichage Outlook de Microsoft sur les sites Web qui sont en dehors du client de messagerie Outlook. Cette mise à jour empêche le contrôle d'être invoqué par les scripts ou Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) du code sur une page Web potentiellement contrôlée par quelqu'un avec une intention malveillante.

En outre, cette mise à jour ajoute une garantie supplémentaire en ce qui concerne certains types de fichiers qui pourraient contenir du code dangereux en bloquant tout attachement qui a un CLSID (identifiant unique) dans l'extension de nom de fichier. Cela vous empêche de lancer une application bloquée involontairement tout en utilisant Outlook 2002.
