Plans help you organize your data into related groups. Examples of plans are: 'Projects', 'Homework', 'Bookmarks', 'To do', etc.
A plan can be created with the File > New Plan menu option or the button with the plus icon at the bottom of the plan table view.
A plan has several attributes:
Each plan can optionally display its completion status, read the general preferences pane documentation for further details about this option.
An unlimited number of actions can be associated with a plan.
Each plan preserves a rich set of informations about the display of its actions, so that you can better configure it. The preserved informations include: the displayed columns, their position and size, the currently selected action and the position of the scrollbars, the current search string and its related flags.
Plans can be reordered through drag and drop.
A plan can be copied into another plan by dropping it onto the target plan; moreover if you keep the option key pressed on your keyboard while dragging, the plan will be moved instead of being just copied.
An action can be copied into a different plan by dropping it onto the target plan; moreover if you keep the option key pressed on your keyboard while dragging, the action will be moved instead of being just copied.
Finally, dragging a plan into the trash in the dock will delete it.
You can also add separator items in the plan table view and associate an optional title with them, this is particularly useful to visually group together related plans, such as work, personal, etc.
Plans have an associated popup menu which contains all most commonly used options for manipulating them. All options are also available in the Plan menu.
There are various methods besides the mouse to navigate among your plans and actions:
you can use the left and right cursor keys on your keyboard to switch between your plan and action tables (focus must be on one of the tables for this to work);
if you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse you can also use the swipe left and right gestures to switch among your plans.
