
Working With Movies
Getting Movies into Deframe
The Tray contains all movies available within a Deframe project. Each movie is displayed as a thumbnail with the name underneath.
To import a movie, do one of the following:
- Click the "Import Movies" item on the toolbar.
- Select the "Project > Add Movies…" option from the main menu.
- Drag the desired movie files from the Finder and drop them on the Deframe project Tray.
- Drag items from another Deframe project window and drop them on the current Deframe project Tray.
To remove a selected movie, press the delete key or click the "Project > Remove Movie" option from the main menu.
Getting Movie Info
The Movie Info toolbar item displays a popover window with information about the selected movie. Along with the name, duration, size and extraction count, the info window allows you to open the selected movie with The default media player. The option of opening a movie in the default media player is also available on the File menu.
To display Movie Info, do one of the following:
- Click the "Movie Info" item on the toolbar.
- Select the "Window > Show Movie Info" option from the main menu.
Displaying a Movie Overview
An Overview displays a sequence of images from any portion of a movie. The images are show as a grid in a separate window. Placing your mouse over an image displays the timecode for that image as a tooltip.
An Overview initially shows a 5 by 5 image grid. To change the grid size, adjust the Display Size slider or type the desired value in the adjacent text field. Grid size must be between 2 and 20. NOTE: The maximum number of images displayed from is 400.
The initial Overview time interval includes the entire movie. To change the time period, drag the in-time and out-time handles of the time slider to the desired offsets.
To display a movie Overview, do one of the following:
- Click the grid icon in the "Display Style" item on the toolbar.
- Select the "View > Toggle Display Style" option from the main menu.
Filtering Tray Items
To limit the number of movies visible in the tray, use the Tray Filter located to the bottom left of the project window. Items displayed will be limited to those with a name containing the search field text string.
